How Badly Do You Want It?

Change.  How badly do you want it?  That’s what  makes the difference in success and failure. If you’re looking to make a change in your life, you have to want the change.  I mean really want it. Desire makes all the difference.

how badly do you want itI think we all have things about ourselves we’d like to change.  Lose 10 pounds, start eating better, or maybe finding a new job, or taking a class.  Those changes are all great, and they are all totally doable, if you want it bad enough.  If you’re just sitting around thinking “Oh hey, maybe I’ll take this class,” chances are, you’re not going to be as successful as you would like.

A few years ago, I decided I needed to lose some weight.  I was firmly committed to it, and I was successful and I lost almost 50 pounds.  I’d been on diets before, and diets since then, and have failed dismally, but that time, for some reason, I wanted it so badly.  I recently started following the same diet again and I guess I didn’t want it bad enough because I’ve fallen off the diet wagon a couple of times.

The internal motivation, or desire is what makes success easier to obtain.  That’s not to say if you want it, you’re going to get it, but if you want it and put in the effort, your chances of success are far greater.  So when you’re thinking about making changes in your life, think about why you want those changes.  What’s your motivation?  Find that reason, find the desire, figure out how badly do you want it and then, go for it.
