Believing

I Manifested one of my Biggest Dreams

A few years ago, I manifested something.  I am a huge believer in the Law of Attraction, I have vision boards, and I truly believe in the concept of Ask, Believe, Receive.  One of my huge dreams/goals/vision board items was to be a published author.  Now here’s the thing, the law of attraction wasn’t going to write a book for me, edit it, design a cover and submit it for publication.  And I think that’s an important thing to remember.   If you want to manifest a healthy body – you are still the one that is going to have to eat better and exercise.  The Law of Attraction will maybe be bringing you the will power to do it.

So as I said, one of my biggest life dreams was to write a book and I did it.  The Law of Attraction helped me to find my muse.  Led me to and editor, helped me find someone to do the kindle formatting and helped me upload it to Amazon Direct Publishing and voila – book on kindle.

In the interim, I took a couple of writing classes and that brought me other options.  I learned about an amazing resource called Draft 2 Digital.   By using Draft 2 Digital, I was able to upload my book to sites other than Amazon, including Barnes and Noble, Apple, and Kobo.  Am I raking in the bucks?  No of course not, and that’s okay.  Fulfilling a dream isn’t necessarily about getting rich.

I will be honest, I have since started two other books, one was a companion to my original book, Thinking Positive:  Take the Journey into Positivity . That book is almost a third of the way done on the first draft. The other is a work of fiction, and several chapters are written. I was making steady progress on both, when covid happened.

Now most people would think that being forced to stay home would mean plenty of time to write.  Oh how I wish that were true.  I’m a teacher so last spring was spent trying to figure out how to teach online and worse, trying to figure out how to make kids want to learn online.   That was hard and literally sucked the life out of me and every other teacher I know!  I spent my summer participating in trainings to learn how to be a better teacher both online and off and then boom, we were back in school.  First we were remote, then teachers were in school and kids were home, then we were remote.  Then we were back and some kids were back.  Then we were remote, then we were back and slowly phasing kids in for hybrid learning.   Now we are back in hybrid model, a group of kids in  on Monday/Tuesday, Wednesday is remote for all, and a different group of kids in Thursday/Friday.  It is EXHAUSTING and leaves very little time for anything else, least of all, writing.

A friend of mine who is not a fan of the Law of Attraction  felt that this lack of writing for me was proof that the Law of Attraction was nothing but bull.  But to me, it’s the exact opposite because my ideas are still there, and the desire is still there, and best of all, the time will be there, when the time is right.

Hold fast to your dreams.  Ask the universe for what you want, and believe it will happen – and most important, be open to the different ways it CAN happen.

Revealed:  A Powerful, Proven Technique that Unlocks the Law of Attraction So You Can Finally Manifest What you Want When you want!

This is NOT about theory – this is about measurable results…

You are not alone. The Law of Attraction has been a mysterious myth to millions of people, a ‘too good to be true’ fairytale that has spread like wildfire. Making us all wonder if it really exists at all.

You are smart. You’ve seen people succeed around you and you’ve decided it’s your turn. You are looking for something tangible that you will know with 100% certainty is working in your life.

You are ready. You are tired of waiting, you are tired of watching, you are tired of hoping and now it’s your time.

And here’s the truth, if you don’t do something different now, nothing will change.

The Number One Reason Why You’re
Banging Your Head Against a Wall is Because

You are creating your life unconsciously by living in DEFAULT mode instead of consciously by living in DESIGN mode.

Most of the time you are blocking the deliberate creation process because your conscious messages and your unconscious messages are in conflict.

Am I saying that you are deliberately or consciously sabotaging yourself? Continue reading “The Secret of Deliberate Creation” »

The Importance of Self Belief – Ian Lock

Please enjoy this guest post from author Ian Lock

IAN LOCK on the importance of Self Belief…

How can self belief help you to be Extraordinary?

As we move into 2013, I find myself thinking a lot about the power of self belief. Our self belief impacts upon everything that we are and everything that we do. People with true self belief can go anywhere and do anything. People with false self belief, or bravado, often just pretend they can.

Can you remember a time when you truly believed in yourself, felt good about who you were and what you could do? A time when you felt really positive? Even if it was only for a brief moment, can you remember how you felt and what you believed?

For me one of those times was when my daughter, Imogen, was born. I remember standing in the hospital room at around 2.30 am holding this precious little bundle in my arms and looking out across the skyline. I had an enormous sense of well being and purpose. I felt ready to face into the rest of my life and create possibilities for me and my family. I believed that I had reached a point where I was ready to be me and that I could truly change the world. At that very moment nothing was impossible. That memory still fills me with the same positivity 12 years on and at some of my most difficult times since, I have used it to sustain me. I often ask myself what that version of me, at that time in my life, with positivity and self belief, would do today.

Positivity and Self Belief says: This is the life I’m living. This is the life I want to be living. Here are some obstacles that are getting in the way. Let’s figure out how I’m going to get around them!

Negativity and Lack of Self Belief says: This is me. I am stuck. Here are all the reasons why I can’t change…

The difference between us feeling powerful and powerless is all about our self belief. Believing in yourself doesn’t guarantee that you will always succeed – but your energy will be different, how you feel will be different, your ability to handle everything that happens in your life will be different.

Think back to a day or a time when you felt great and had real self belief.

What did it feel like and how did you behave?

What was possible?

What could you do today with that feeling to make your life Extraordinary?

Why Your AHA Moments Don’t Stick – Chris Cade

by Chris Cade

You’ve most certainly seen this in your life, and possible the lives of those you know about. It’s happened to me. The story starts out the same. You have one of those “amazingly super-duper spiritually enlightening aha moment experiences.”

You may have walked around for a few hours or even days without an ego…

It was mind-blowing to feel empty and spacious yet full…

For a night, it was inspiring to have the courage of a lion…

And for a moment, your consciousness expanded exponentially when you saw the entire Universe in a grain of sand.

But then something else happened. It wore off. The realization didn’t stick, and you realize something more immediate: you’re “just” you. Whoever you were before that incredible experience has returned to the present moment.

You hoped that the experience would transform your life forever. You hoped that if you had enough of those experiences, if you sought and found them, if you cherished them, they’d add up to enough realizations that you’d get to keep them all forever.

The thing is, transformation doesn’t work that way.

Realization is one thing. It’s the starting point. Realizations like those open us up to experiencing the world in new ways. Until we discover that the real challenge is not when we attain those realizations, but rather, living them in your daily life. That’s called “actualization.”

Actualization is when your realizations are so integrated into your being, that you live them naturally. You no longer have to “discover” the Truth of yourself because simply by existing you are an expression of that Truth.

It doesn’t matter if that Truth is as simple as having the courage to face your fears, or a deeper awareness such as the Universal interconnectedness we all share. Truth is Truth. And it’s a Truth you live without having to try and without having to alter your state of being to experience and live that Truth.

To simplify: Realization is the awareness. Actualization is the living embodiment of that awareness.

The thing is, few people experience real transformation in their lives because they spend more time chasing realizations than they do trying to actualize those realizations.

What good is awareness if you can’t bring it with you at the end of the experience?

Unfortunately, like all great spiritual Truths… the answer is simple, but not easy. In fact, to make your “aha” moments stick, you only have to do two things:

(1) Put into action what you realize

(2) Repeat step 1.

Or phrased another way: Practice the art of living.

It really is that simple. And yet, we have decades of historical conditioning, difficult experiences, and lack of spiritual support, many of which have been us practicing the art of non-living. The art of surviving. And while that was a necessary art to practice as a child, it’s not necessary to practice it in exactly the same ways as an adult.

We as adults have different needs than we did as chidlren. As such, our practices have to evolve, grow, and deepen. They can’t be based on our past — our practices must be based on the present. And therein lies the true secret to the two-step process above.

When you put your realizations into action, when you truly live them, you are living in the present moment. And the present moment is the only place where our practices can be integrated into our being such that they become actualizations.

P.S. When it comes to realizations…

One of the most difficult ones to live is around our “Self Worth.” Simply put… do we have value? And more importantly, is our value inherent to our being or is it something we have to earn?

If you’re like me and everybody I’ve ever met, there’s at least some aspect of you that feels you have to “earn” your worth. We do this by striving for the approval of others and avoiding rejection. Sometimes it’s in obvious big ways, and other times it’s so subtle or subconscious that you might not even be aware you’re doing it.

And if self worth is an area you’re still wanting to work on in your own life, then please feel free to join me on the free “Self Worth Summit.” I’ll be speaking alongside nearly 60 other speakers about this exact topic: How can we live, in our daily lives, with the experience of knowing that we matter?

Temple Run and the Law of Attraction

I have a new interest  issue addiction – it’s called Temple Run.  I had no idea what this game was until one day, I was riding in the car with my daughter and these very strange noises started coming from her tablet.  At first,  thought it was the car, but then she proceeded to explain the game Temple Run to me.  I tried it when I got home, and the rest is, as they say, history.  But I’m not here to talk about my little video game interest   issue   addiction.  What I want to talk about is how I am using this game and applying it to the Law of Attraction.

In Temple Run, there is a magnet bonus you can get and when you do, your character gets a glowy aura about it, and will automatically begin attracting coins.  Since attracting a lot of coins is one of the key aspects of the game, getting the magnet bonus is a good thing.

One morning, driving to work, I was running over my affirmations in my head and one phrase jumped out at me.  I am a magnet for luck, a magnet for love and a magnet for money and I attract all of these things to me.  A magnet.  A MAGNET – just like the magnet in Temple Run.

I am a magnet for luck, a magnet for love and a magnet for money and I attract all of these things to me.

Now I will be the first to admit that it doesn’t take much to get me excited, or make me happy (you should have seen me the day my ezpass transponder came in the mail) but when I made this connection, I was over the moon.  It gave me a visual to apply to my affirmations.

I say these affirmations religiously, and I focus on them, but now, I am actually envisioning myself grabbing the magnet from Temple Run.  I see myself glowing like my little Temple Run character, and I visualize all these things coming to me and sticking to me with no effort, just they way the coins in Temple Run do.

I’ll be honest here.  Those images, those visuals make me happy, and they make me laugh every single time.  This in turn boosts my mood and guess what – because I’m happier, I’m sending out happier vibrations to the world, so guess what I’m getting back?  Yep, you got it – lots and lots of happiness.

All this because of a video game.  Who’d have thought?

Let Me Tell You About “God” – by Chris Cade

by Chris Cade

Just saying the word “God” sends some people into a rage and others into profound peace. It causes wars and creates divine unions. People blame God for the bad in their lives while praising God for the gifts.

I find it amazing how one word can have such different meanings to so many people. There are as many meanings for the word “God” as there are people on the planet.

To some, God is personified – an all-knowing sentient being who consciously and intentionally creates situations (whether it’s pleasure or suffering, peace or war, cancer or miracle healings).
To others, God is an omnipresent field of organizing energy which has no conscious awareness, yet all consciousness arises from.
And others don’t even acknowledge the concept of “God” in any form.
Regardless of what you may believe about God…
Regardless of what you may have discovered to be personally true about God…
I think it’s important to really acknowledge that God means different things to different people. The thing is, what I’m writing isn’t really about God.
It’s about you and every experience you’ve ever had, are having, and will have. Because each and every one of them, every thought, every emotion, every story you’ve ever told yourself…
Means something different to you than it does to anybody else.

And if we can get so riled up about a three-letter word such as “God,” consider how much more we get riled up each and every day with entire sentences! 🙂

P.P.S. Only by acknowledging how you fundamentally view the world differently from others can you develop the awareness to have compassion for those who are different from you.

P.P.S. And by “those who are different from you,” I mean everybody you ever come into contact with.

The Gift You Give Yourself by Teaching Others – Chris Cade

by Chris Cade

“We teach that which we most need to learn.” ~ David Bach

Some version of that quote has been used by leaders for as long as I can remember, and for good reason. While it’s wonderful when we learn something new, the best way to integrate new knowledge and make it stick in our lives is to teach it.

This is because teaching challenges us to really understand what we’re learning.

It challenges us to understand it with such clarity that we can effectively communicate it to others.

Teaching also exposes us to feedback from others, and that feedback is helpful (and sometimes even necessary) for us to understand something deeply enough to integrate it into our lives.

Those are just a few of the benefits you get by teaching something. Studies have shown that when you are first learning something, that if you teach it to somebody shortly thereafter, you’ll remember what you learn more effectively and understand it more thoroughly.

In fact, some teaching methods ~ ironically ~ require students to immediately turn around and teach others what they learn.

The beauty of this approach is that it doesn’t only deepen learning; it also creates more effective leaders in the world.

And it’s no mystery that one of my favorite aspects of teaching is that it’s a means by which I can work with you to co-create an increasingly more amazing world… one email, one video, one person, one step at a time.

So next time you want to learn a new skill, remember that one of the best things you can do is to try and teach it to somebody else.

And even if you don’t want to “teach” it, at the very least, discuss it candidly with somebody else to explore your new knowledge more deeply. Even the process of sharing what you know with somebody else will help you immensely.

Believe in Yourself

If you believe you can, you probably can. If you believe you won’t you most assuredly won’t. Belief is the ignition switch that gets you off the launching pad.~ Denis Waitley

A few years ago, my kids participated in a tae kwon do tournament, and one of the events was entitled creative forms.  In this event, you dressed up in costume, and performed a martial arts form to music.  One particular woman used music from The Polar Express and at the end, held up a wooden sign that read “BELIEVE.”  Now my kids, to this day, still laugh about how odd it looked, but guess what?  She took first place.  Because she believed.  She didn’t care about how she looked or how others perceived what she was doing.  She went out there and gave it her all and believed in herself.

Believing in yourself is what is going to get it done.  Conversely, if you believe you can’t, you most definitely will not be able to do whatever it is you are undertaking.  It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy in a way.  And to my way of thinking, if you are going to tip the scales one way or the other, why not tip them in your favor?  Believe in yourself.  Know that you can do it, achieve it, become it, have it and do it.  Whatever IT may be.  Just believe in yourself and your ability to succeed.

One Step Backward. Two Steps Forward – Chris Cade

by Chris Cade

There actually are great spiritual secrets. They exist.

The thing about spiritual secrets is that you can tell them openly.

Because the ability to understand something and then the power to integrate into your life are two very different things.”

– Guy Finley

As people on the path of conscious living, we almost always have a gap between what we know and how we live. That’s not a bad thing. It’s just that living 100% of what we believe to be true is difficult because there’s so many subconscious barriers to doing it.

We might live 75% of what we know on one day. Then life challenges shift us closer to 50%. Then we do some inner work, and it bounces up to 80%. And this process continues. This kind of “two steps forward one step back” is fundamental on the path of conscious living.

On one hand, we can punish ourselves emotionally for not doing what we “know” is right. That’s the Inner Critic taking its hold on us. Telling us we “know better” and “should do better.”

On the other hand, we can accept our humanity and recognize that each step “back” is an opportunity to learn. Learn what?

How to take those two steps forward! 🙂

This is the process of growth. It’s the choice we make when we no longer choose to allow other people and life circumstances decide everything for us. As you know, it’s not an easy path.

No more evident has this been to me than in the last couple of months. It’s not like my “Dark Night of the Soul” has suddenly disappeared. These times have been immensely difficult for me. Each day seems to be that struggle between steps forward and backward. Sometimes my Inner Critic counts the steps:

“Oh, Chris. You took THREE steps backward today and only one step forward. You could have done more. You should have done more.”

Yeah, that Inner Critic can be cunning (to put it “mildly”) at times. Fortunately, I don’t take it as seriously as I used to.

Sure it says things I may not appreciate. By not giving its words the weight and power that -it- wants to have, I don’t have to experience the pain that the Inner Critic tries to inflict.

I look beneath the words to see the scared little voice trying to control, limit, and diminish my life. I realize I don’t have to listen to it if I don’t want to.

And neither do you…
