Value Time

Valuing time before it is too late

Often our days are busied with worry, stress, complaining, work, and a general wasting of time. Once we finally realize the value of our time, often for many of us it is too late. While your life might seem like a long time in the midst of it, truly it is a blink of an eye. Today, make more time to be present in your life. Even small moments–enjoying a cup of tea, calling a friend, reading a favorite book–should be enjoyed. Restructure your day so that you can get all of your work done, but allow for extra time to be spent on personal matters. Stop procrastinating!

No Doubts- You Can Do It!

No Doubts – You Can Do It!
By Mike Brescia

Have you ever thought “What would happen if I just let go of all
the sorrow, pain and anger – just let it go?” I recently read a
short story about Reba McIntire’s life. I gained a whole new
appreciation for her. If you’re not familiar with her, she’s sold
more country music records than any woman in history.

Her first marriage was very painful. Just one example of the
things she endured was her husband’s demand that if they had any
children, she’d have to quit singing because he wasn’t going to
change any diapers. Imagine a guy who’s got a wife who makes tens
of millions of dollars, and he wants her to quit because he won’t
help with the kids. Schmuck…

He never made her feel like she did anything important. But she
never gave in to the treatment she got from him. Instead, after 11
years of marriage, she divorced him. That was 1987. Since then,
she’s done more in her industry than anyone before her.

You see, you don’t have to give in to your challenges. Use them to
make you stronger. Look at the nay-sayers and tell them they’re
wrong. Use their criticism to feed your determination… When
someone tells you that you can’t, double your efforts. They’re
probably wrong. And if the worst thing happens, if you think you
can’t…be intelligent. Make sure you’re not climbing a mountain
that no one could scale. But if it’s doable and if you have the
resources, or if you can get them… Then get rid of the doubt.
Say “I can do it.” Continue reading “No Doubts- You Can Do It!” »

Who is standing in your way?

from sparkpeople.com

Imagine someone regularly tying small weights around your ankles as you try to climb a mountain. Doesn’t sound fair, does it? But that’s exactly what you can do to yourself, a little bit at a time, if you don’t watch out. When you think of who and what is standing in the way of your dreams, it’s easy to forget your own responsibility. Even the best of us can be guilty of unknowingly hurting our own progress. Procrastination, lateness, being disorganized, pessimism, not being honest with yourself, severe self-criticism, downplaying achievements, focusing only on weaknesses while ignoring strengths, keeping goals a secret, demanding perfection, giving up after a small setback–these are all ways you can make it tough to be (and do) your best. Smart systems, the right attitude, and a promise to keep going no matter what will make a world of difference

10 Secrets to Happiness I learnt from Andrew Matthews

from Yee Shun-Jian

What is more important than being happy?” Andrew Matthews asked the audience in a seminar I attended 6 weeks back. He then started to draw funny little cartoons and continued “I learnt to draw in school during mathematics!”

Everyone bursted into laughter.

In case you don’t know who Andrew Matthews is, let me give you a little introduction. He is an international speaker on “attitude“, “being happy“, “success” and “prosperity” and the best-selling author of motivation and personal development classics like “Being Happy!” and “Follow your heart“.

Andrew Matthews

Andrew is an extraordinary man and I would like to share with you what I learnt about happiness from him. Are you ready to know the 10 secrets to happiness? Listen up!

1) Be happy where you are now

Right now! Be thankful for what you have, instead of moaning about what you lack. Be satisfied with what you have when you are in pursuit of what you want.

A New Year a New Outlook

This is NOT going to be one of those look back over the past year type of posts.  I could do that, but I figure just about everybody in the bloggerverse is doing that, and I’m a rebel.

2011 was a rough year for a lot of people, myself included, and I see no point in in reliving it.  It’s time to move forward, and move forward with purpose, drive, determination and joy.  Joy?  Yes, joy.  Because great things are going to happen in 2012. Great, wonderful and amazing things.

Set your goals in your mind, and see yourself achieving them.  Do this every day.  Develop a plan, and take baby steps toward that goal.   Just keep reminding yourself that every day in every way you are a unique and incredible individual filled with love and light!

Have a wonderful and prosperous 2012 and stay positive!

Are you connecting with the world around you?

from sparkpeople.com

It’s normal to be concerned about the effect you have on the world. You may look for opportunities to help others, but are often unsure where to start. Here’s a good strategy: Make it your business to build people and help them improve themselves (and that includes yourself). You can have a much stronger effect on people this way than if you did hundreds of hours of secluded community service. Start by improving yourself and developing the strengths that can set an example for others. Then use your strengths to help others develop their own. You don’t even have to wait! What are you already good at? Take that skill and put it to use for the good of your community, or teach it to someone else. For a better world, do less FOR other people, and do more WITH them.

What does your conscience tell you?

from sparkpeople.com

Ever get the feeling that you should be doing something other than what you are? Not just in the area of good vs. evil, but in your exercise and nutrition choices. Do you ever feel guilty about doing a half-hearted job on a project or neglecting your duty to family? Listen to your conscience. It’s telling you that you’re getting off track. It knows what you’re capable of and where your priorities are. If you neglect those standards–if you get your priorities mixed up–your conscience is going to let you know about it. When you work, turn out a product that would make you proud–even if you think nobody notices. When you plan your day, make sure it agrees with the healthy direction you want to head. That’ll keep that nagging inner voice from reminding you that “something is not quite right here.” You may think no one is looking, but somebody is–you are.

Unlocking the Power of the Subconscious Mind

By Greg Frost

The key to making your subconscious mind work for you is in your
attitude. Having a positive self-esteem and confidence in yourself
can go a long way towards achieving the goals that you have set out
for your mind. Whilst many people believe that confidence and
esteem comes with your personality, which is determined at birth,
it is not true. It is never too late to start cultivating and
improving your inner image and resources, primarily that of your
subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind is an amazing resource that is able to store
memories that have been long forgotten. It has a strong effect on
the conscious mind, although it is not able to think or reason,
taking direction from the conscious mind instead. However, it is
possible to reach the subconscious mind and make it work for you.
Many methods are available for doing so, such as through hypnosis,
subliminal programming and positive affirmations.

How Our Subconscious Works – In a Nutshell – Greg Frost

How Our Subconscious Works In A Nutshell
By Greg Frost

The human mind can be separated into the conscious and the
subconscious mind. Only a small minority has ever managed to tap
into the subconscious mind, understand and utilize its power fully.
Because the subconscious mind never needs to rest, it is boundless
and unlimited in its ability to bring you success. However, if you
do not utilize it, it will be left to atrophy. Everyone has
tremendous mental capacity; it is up to you to make the most of it.
