<p>We all get mad&#8230;.it&#8217;s a normal human emotion and a form of self expression.  Anger can be good.  It can give us the impetus to get things done.  Then the anger burns out and we move on, and life is good.  But for some, <a href="http://thinkpositive30.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/buddha.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2493" title="Digital StillCamera" src="http://thinkpositive30.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/buddha-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>the anger doesn&#8217;t always burn out.  We hold on to it in the form of a grudge, letting it fester inside us.  When we hold on to anger, it doesn&#8217;t do us any good.  It infects us and everything that we do, and the anger we hold on to, it doesn&#8217;t serve to accomplish anything positive.  It wears us down, it colors our perspective in a negative way, and it can even make us ill.  Holding on to anger, holding a grudge doesn&#8217;t hurt the person or situation you are angry with, it hurts you.  Let go of the anger that fills you and let the light fill you instead.</p></blockquote>

<p>This ritual has been handed down through so many people that its origin has become unknown.</p>
<p>What are Abundance Checks?</p>
<p>Abundance checks are a tool we can use to create more abundance in our lives. They are written within 24 hours after a New Moon.</p>
<p>Surprisingly,you really don’t even need to believe that the check will work when you write it. You will however be amazed at the results,as you will see increased abundance in your life,in some life area. It is not always financial,but certainly in an area that you need.</p>
<p>There is a traditional manner,which has been handed down,that must be followed. If you do not have a checking account you can draw a check on a piece of paper and fill it out the same way &#8211; the results will be the same,more abundance for you.</p>
<p>Here’s how to do them:</p>
<p>1.) Within 24 hours after a New Moon,take a check from your check book. Where it says “Pay to,” write your name.</p>
<p>2.) In the little box on the same line where you would fill in a dollar amount write “Paid in full.”</p>
<p>3.) On the line underneath your name,where you would write out a dollar amount,write “Paid in full.” [I find it works better if you don't add the squiggly line.]</p>
<p>4.) Sign the check: “The Law of Abundance”</p>
<p>Do not put a date on the check. Do not write a specific dollar amount in the check. Put it in a safe place and forget about it. The Universe will take it from there.</p>
<p>Many people are skeptical about trying this until they do it. After the first time they realize the power of these checks and do them routinely every month! Try it yourself and see!</p>
<p>If you enjoy this ritual,do it for the next three New Moons and see what happens.</p>

<p>It would be so awesome if, when we set out to do something, nothing got in our way.  However, we live in <a href="http://thinkpositive30.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/detour.gif"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2485" title="detour" src="http://thinkpositive30.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/detour-150x150.gif" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>the real world, and in the real world, things happen.  People get sick, materials aren&#8217;t available, cars break down, people let you down&#8230;.the list is endless.  It&#8217;s what you DO with those things that get in your way that matters.  Do you let them derail you?  Do you give up?  You can&#8217;t view those &#8220;things&#8221; as permanent roadblocks.  They&#8217;re detours.  The challenge is finding the way around them.  It may take a bit more work, but won&#8217;t that make the end result that much sweeter in the end?  Never give up!  When those detours pop up, turn on your internal GPS system and figure out a way around them.  Who knows, your new route may turn out to be the better one in the end.</p></blockquote>

Is your body physically more open or closed?<br />
For example &#8230;<br />
- Are your arms crossed? Is your body hunched or curled over?</p>
<p>You are probably feeling defensive and closed.<br />
- Are your arms outstretched or facing upwards? Is your body upright?</p>
<p>These are more open and welcoming postures.</p>

<p>The other thing to consider is how your body feels in a given moment. When life is going your way, when it&#8217;s smooth and flowing, you typically feel relaxed. It&#8217;s your natural state.</p>
<p>On the other hand, when life is tough and there&#8217;s challenges, usually you&#8217;ll feel tense and constricted. This is a sign that you&#8217;re not aligned with your True Nature.<br />
Same is true of your body. When it&#8217;s tense, that&#8217;s a sign that it&#8217;s out of balance and not as &#8220;open&#8221; to the world. When you feel relaxed, there&#8217;s an inherent openness that welcomes all of the world into your experience.<br />

<p>Notice what you&#8217;re thinking and feeling when you cross your arms or certain muscles in your body feel tense. Similarly, when you feel totally relaxed and at ease, notice what your body posture looks like.<br />

<p>Nice saying&#8230;.pretty words, but the question remains, how?  How do we transform the quality of our lives.  I look around at my life, and it&#8217;s an okay life&#8230;.some would say it&#8217;s even pretty <a href="http://thinkpositive30.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/changes.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2477" title="changes" src="http://thinkpositive30.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/changes-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>darn good (I&#8217;m one of those people) but if I wanted to change the quality, how do I go about it?  It actually goes back to what I said <a href="http://thinkpositive30.com/blog/2012/02/17/reach-goal/">here</a> &#8211; start at the beginning, and go on until you get to the end.  Again, rather trite sounding, right?  But it&#8217;s really not.  You simply start at the beginning, and make one change.  One tiny little change, and then another and then another.  Soon you will find changes all around you.  Changes don&#8217;t have to be huge &#8211; after all, an avalanche can start with one small snowball.  So if you want to change the quality of your life.  Create a goal, formulate your plan and start making changes, one by one.</p></blockquote>

<p>As you know, I have a passion for rapid personal growth. Since most of us transform our lives relatively slowly (if at all), there&#8217;s a real benefit to knowing how to make transformations quickly. Since we have a limited time on Earth then it serves us to know how to optimize our lives.</p>
<p>This doesn&#8217;t mean that it&#8217;s in our best interests to always be pushing ourselves to be faster, better, and more. That&#8217;s not what I&#8217;m suggesting. What I am suggesting is that if life is our schoolroom, how can we make the most effective use of that experience? How can we allow life to serve us as fully as possible?</p>
<p>One way is to &#8220;force the issue.&#8221;<br />
Or to phrase it differently: We can enter into situations in which a learning experience with growth is the inevitable, eventual, and guaranteed outcome of a particular experience.<br />
We could go into those situations both willingly and unwillingly. For example, we experience this during times of extreme duress when our preferred outer-world options are limited or even eliminated. It could come in the form of being fired from work, the death of a loved one or a relationship that ends, an unexpectedly severe and debilitating illness, or any other number of unwanted yet extreme situations.<br />
These &#8220;force&#8221; us to choose either a path of growth or a path of destruction. We&#8217;ll learn from both directions. That&#8217;s inevitable. It&#8217;s eventual. And growth is a guaranteed outcome. It may not be growth as we think of it in a &#8220;positive&#8221; sense. Destruction might cause us to go into a place so dark that whatever we learn is pushed down into our subconscious. Still, learning happens through every experience. The more extreme the experience, the more severe it is, the greater the growth.<br />
Ideally as we live a more conscious life, the path of destruction fades away and growth comes to the forefront. Rather than curl up into a ball and wait for the metaphorical pounding to stop, we can stand up and step forward. This is not easy. It takes a lot of courage, willpower, and strength. It takes dedication to your growth. And it is incredibly rewarding.</p>
<p>On the other hand, what if you don&#8217;t have to wait for life to hand you those situations? What if you could create them yourselves?</p>
<p>You can. One way is to limit your options. This is a way to &#8220;force the issue&#8221; in your daily life. Here&#8217;s a few examples&#8230;<br />
Eating healthier: Throw away all your unhealthy food. Buy healthy food.<br />
Breaking an addiction: Get rid of what you&#8217;re addicted to. Lock it up. Hide it. Do anything you can to make it incredibly difficult to access.<br />
Starting a new business: Quit your job.<br />
Getting some rest and relaxation: Tell your employer (and anybody else necessary) you&#8217;re taking a day or few off.<span id="more-2408"></span></p>
<p>Need a Vacation: Pay for as much non-refundable costs in advance as you can.</p>
<p>&#8230;..<br />
Now to be clear, I&#8217;m not advocating you do any of those things. Especially not all at once! <img src='http://thinkpositive30.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  I&#8217;m only listing them as examples as to how limiting your options &#8220;forces&#8221; you to grow. How so?<br />
When you limit options, it creates an inner discomfort that must be reconciled. There&#8217;s a tension within that must be released or suppressed. Suppression forces the learning into the subconscious (like the &#8220;destructive&#8221; examples above). On the other hand, releasing the tension is what causes the growth.<br />
For example, if you are trying to eat healthier then you&#8217;ll feel a tension between wanting to go out and find unhealthy food to eat instead of eating what you have. Pay attention to that tension. It could become so extreme that you ignore your healthy food and go out to eat some &#8220;Soul Food.&#8221;</p>
<p>Or perhaps you&#8217;re trying to break a chocolate addiction, so you locked all your chocolate into a box and intentionally forgot the combination to open it. Then you decide to drive to the store at midnight and buy the first chocolate bar you see.<br />
Or you could go the other route: Actually take the non-refundable vacation and get rest and relaxation.<br />
The outcome is actually not all that important. Whether you break the addiction, take the vacation, or eat healthier&#8230; it&#8217;s largely irrelevant. What&#8217;s relevant is that you remain conscious and present while you&#8217;re going through that experience.</p>
<p>For example, you might not like who you become as you rampage through the online food directory looking for the greasiest unhealthy food you can find. You might not like how out of control you feel. And what if your car breaks down on the way?</p>
<p>All those outer challenges will give you an important inner reference. Specifically, how far are you willing to go to remain comfortable? To what will you go to to maintain your old life? To get what it is that you&#8217;ve intentionally deprived yourself of?</p>
<p>When you &#8220;force the issue&#8221; what you&#8217;re really doing is exploring how deeply ingrained something is in your psyche. The more effort you are willing to put forth to &#8220;get&#8221; whatever it is you&#8217;ve limited from yourself, the more inner growth you&#8217;ll need to support the changes you want to make.</p>
<p>Being present and aware of this tension is what creates the growth. When the tension remains subconscious, outer growth doesn&#8217;t manifest in your life. So the awareness you bring to the tension is a way that whatever was subconscious becomes conscious. Then you know you are -choosing- the path you take of your own free will.<br />
It&#8217;s helpful to start with something small. Perhaps make sure that on Fridays you are always going out to eat lunch with coworkers you know who only eat healthy food. Wherever you go, you know you&#8217;ll be &#8220;Forced&#8221; to eat food that&#8217;s better for your body. Then as you get comfortable with the small changes, you can work up to bigger ones.<br />
I recall how I &#8220;forced&#8221; the issue to stop drinking caffeine. First, I replaced all my soda intake with Sprite. Then years later, I replaced Sprite with Water and Milk. Now I drink a good amount of water each and every day. My water bottle goes with me wherever I go. <img src='http://thinkpositive30.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /><br />
It didn&#8217;t start that way though. It started by making sure I got rid of all caffeinated drinks in my home. No access. By extension, I &#8220;forced&#8221; the change I wanted to experience in my life.<br />
Find something in your life you&#8217;d like to change. Start small. Give &#8220;forcing the issue&#8221; a try. And See what you discover&#8230;</p>

<p>If you leave it, your subconscious mind will be like a garden that<br />
is unattended &#8211; the weeds will take over. Use affirmations to your<br />
advantage at the optimum times when your subconscious mind is<br />
listening.</p>
<p>Be the person you admire</p>
<p>Make a list of the attributes you most admire in others and<br />
incorporate these into your own life-one by one. When you surround<br />
yourself with positive images or sounds, your subconscious mind<br />
will imprint those images or record those sounds in your head. I&#8217;m<br />
not talking about your conscious mind, but rather the subconscious.<br />
Your subconscious mind is lying there dormant within you, just<br />
waiting for you to tap into its power.</p>
<p>The Conscious Mind</p>
<p>The conscious mind is the one that you are perhaps more aware of.<br />
It is the one you use to make decisions, choices and conclusions,<br />
or to put forward logical arguments and sound deductions. In order<br />
to succeed in life and get ahead of the competition, you would be<br />
well aided by the ability to use your mind more fully. This<br />
involves engaging the subconscious mind.</p>
<p>The Subconscious Mind</p>
<p>The subconscious mind takes instructions from the conscious mind<br />
without questioning, and takes action to achieve the directions<br />
through constant repetition and affirmations. It has one main<br />
purpose: to achieve the goals that you set with your conscious<br />
mind. Without such goals, it will not be called into function, and<br />
will simply be a dormant power left untouched.</p>
<p>This is an important thing to take note of, because the<br />
subconscious never acts on its own without direction. It is unable<br />
to reason, and simply accepts all the information that you feed it<br />
because it is unable to distinguish between what is reality and<br />
what is not. One of the best ways to affect it is by surrounding<br />
yourself with positive affirmations and convictions that will move<br />
you towards your goals. Negative information and environments do<br />
the opposite, and it is best to eliminate them.</p>
<p>Be the Person You Want to Be</p>
<p>Your subconscious mind never rests, even when you are sleeping. You<br />
can be the person you want to be by tapping into this power. Make a<br />
list of the characteristics and attributes you wish to achieve, and<br />
slowly integrate it into your life. There are many techniques for<br />
engaging the power of the subconscious mind, by making the<br />
conscious direction to keep it clear and without negative<br />
affirmations. A negative affirmation will result in your own<br />
self-destruction, as the subconscious acts on achieving the<br />
affirmations that you set it out to.</p>
<p>When you learn how to utilize and control the power of your mind,<br />
greatness is attainable. In order to be a winner, you must first<br />
think like a winner, and leave the rest to your subconscious mind<br />
to achieve.</p>
