Change Your Fate

Men are not prisoners of fate, but only prisoners of their own minds.- Franklin D. Roosevelt

Hmmm, I was going to start this post out with a second quote – from the movie The Terminator.  “The future is not set, we have no sjfate but what we make.”  But googling has told me the second half of the quote was written into the movie but ended up on the cutting room floor.  I swear I remember it, but what do I know?  Anyhow, the sentiment in both quotes is so true.  Our futures are blank canvases upon which we can paint whatever we like.

I see it every day.  People who say they’re stuck where they are and can’t get out.  It’s never going to change.  This is the live they live because of this, that and the other.  To them, I say BULL.  Right here, right now, you can change your life.  It’s not going to be easy, in fact, it’s probably going to be pretty darn hard, but it can be done.  You just have to want it.  But people feel that it’s easier to accept the status quo rather than fight to make a change.

I’m the same way – there are changes that I want to make in my life.  Seriously, I want to be a lot skinnier than I am right now.  I’ve actually made progress with this change, but not enought.  Do you know why? Eating healthy is hard!  And exercising?  Well that’s incredibly hard for me.  However, if I want this change, I will put in the time and effort.  If I can do it, so can you.  Make the changes you want to see in your life.  Be the artist on your own canvas

“No fate but what we make.” You’re thinking of Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
