Blaze Your Own Trail

This quote calls to mind the Robert Frost poem, The Road Less Traveled.  But while Frost urges us to not follow the trend, Emerson is urging us to blaze our own trail.  It’s so easy to follow the crowd and be like everybody else…to do differently, can be down right terrifying.  It’s so much easier to dress like everybody else, act like everybody else, and think like everybody else.  But if you’re busy being like everybody else, you have no opportunity to find out who you really are.  And if you do know who you are, showing that amazing person to the world can be absolutely terrifying.  It’s hard to be different than everybody else.  But take the chance, dare to be yourself.  Blaze your own trail and let others follow you.  Who knows what amazing things you’ll discover on your journey.
