Find Your Happiness

Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for. – Joseph Addison

While I wish I could say there was an easy peasy way to find your happiness, I have to admit, there is no one step fits all approach.  That being said, there are some basic tenents which will help you to find your happiness.

find your happinessAccording to this quote, you need something to do, something to love and something to hope for.  I don’t think that’s 100 percent accurate.  I think love is the most important thing.  If you don’t love, you’re never going to find real happiness.

Now before you get all up in arms, I’m not talking just about romantic love, though romantic love is pretty awesome.  I’m talking about love in general.  If you don’t love, or have love in your life, I think you’re life will be pretty empty.  That will make it hard to find your happiness.

So love in general.  I know, pretty vague, right?  But it’s not, I promise.  Love gives our lives purpose, and if our lives have purpose, we can find our happiness.  If you love your job, or love a friend, or love your dog, or even love your house, your car, your clothes, or even your existence, that’s the kind of love that helps you find your happiness. Am I making sense yet?

Okay back to the quote, and let’s apply the general love to it.  If you have something to do and you love it, you’re happy, right?  And if you set your sites on a goal that excites you (goal=hope, excite=love) you’re on your way finding your happiness.  And it all wraps itself up nicely in the something to love.

So yes, find, think, hope and do what you love, and you’ll find your happiness!
