Make a New Choice

Instead of looking at life as a narrowing funnel, we can see it ever widening to choose the things we want to do, to take the wisdom we’ve learned and create something.

We grow up thinking I want to be this, or do that, and as we move through school, we narrow our choices.  Eventually, we settle on a career path, and make a new choicefrom then on, that’s what we do. But what happens if we don’t like what we’re doing, or we want to try something new?  It’s okay to make a new choice.  We aren’t stuck on one path.  You don’t need to look at the rest of your life like you have tunnel vision.  You’re in control, and you can change it any time you want.

The quote compares life to a funnel, and actually, I kind of like this.  You have all these experiences pouring in the wide part of the funnel, and it condenses and comes out through the smaller, narrow opening of the funnel.  That’s fine because you can take that funnel and put it over a different glass, bottle or container and pour all that experience and education into a different container.  You just need to make a new choice.

That is something that I absolutely love about life.  You’re not stuck where you are.  You can do something different, you can be something different.  I’m not saying it will be easy, but it can be done. It can be done by you.  All you have to do is make a new choice.
