Gratitude Rocks – Help Spread the Message

Have you ever seen the cute, hand painted rocks with inspirational messages outside?  People are encouraged to pick up a rock that speaks to them.  Well those rocks have to come from somewhere, right?  They do, people make them and leave them in places for other people to find. I'm here to ask a favor if you are a crafty individual who paints rocks like this.  On the ones I make, I add the url to Think Positive 30 - www.thinkpositive30.com.  Why?  My goal is to spread positivity wherever I can - to share the message that I deliver here daily.  If you do decorate rocks like this and leave them out and about for others to find, would you consider adding the url to Think Positive 30 every once in a while.  With your help, we can spread the message of positivity and positive thinking farther than ever!

The Reason

Everything happens for a reason, you only need to keep on editing your attitude and gratitude so as to sail through. - Unknown I haven't felt like writing for a while. I could give you chapter and verse as to why, but in the end, it doesn't really matter. I just haven't felt like writing, so I haven't been writing. I don't have a concrete reason, I just haven't felt like writing.  And yet, tonight, here I am writing and the reason for that is I am grateful.  I had something happened to me this weekend which totally sent me over the deep end into the gratitude pool.  That's not to say I had a bad attitude before or wasn't grateful for things that had happened, because I was. But right now, I am splashing around in that deep end of the gratitude pool and it feels good, and what do you know, I'm sitting here writing! Is there a correlation?  Maybe, maybe not.  I don't know, and you know what?  I don't care either.   I'm not going to dig through my psyche and try and figure out the why and why not of my not writing.  I don't need…

4 Positive, Simple Ways to Improve Your Health and Well-Being

4 Positive, Simple Ways to Improve Your Health and Well-Being Brad Krause Practicing positivity can take some effort. But one of the best ways to spark positivity in your life is to take more control of your health. Thankfully, there are many simple head-to-toe habits you can easily incorporate into your daily routine. Here are some great health tips that can help you make the most of your health and this gift we call life.   Use the Right Filters to Clean Your Home’s Air   The simple act of breathing can bring you peace, but only if the air you breathe is actually clean. While there’s not a lot you can do to prevent pollution outside, you do have the power to reduce irritants inside your own home. Change out the filters in your furnace or HVAC system and opt for MERV 8-rated filters when doing so. These highly rated filters have been shown to reduce up to 90 percent of toxins and pollutants, including mold, dust mites and even pollen. To add even more air purity to your home, and a touch of natural beauty, consider adding some air-cleaning plants to your home as well. Snake plants, ferns,…

Gratitude

Today's guest post is by Luke Goodwin   GRATITUDE   For me, this is one of the most powerful things that can influence every single area of your life and something that has completely transformed my way of thinking and also the way I conduct myself.   Each day, I utilise something called 'The Miracle Morning' and within this I have added in an exercise called 'priming' by the one and only Tony Robbins. Priming is something that has completely opened my mind, allows me to channel my thoughts, create energy and positivity. While I am doing this priming exercise, which lasts for 14 minutes, there is a part of it that focuses on gratitude, and I cannot put a measurement on how much this has affected me. I didn't drastically notice immediate changes, but they were happening daily, just really small minor changes in my thinking, but over time, when I look back at my journal entries and how I used to conduct myself, I have realised how much, just spending a small amount of time being grateful, has impacted my life. It allows you to see yourself, other people and the world in a completely different light. It…

Gratitude

So I have this awesome little app on my phone called a gratitude journal, and every day a little reminder pops up to remind me to write down that for which I am grateful.  It also has a nice little quote or saying, and today, it said this: Before you begin to write anything, silently say "Thank you" twenty times.  Feel the feelings of gratitude as you repeat the words. I'm really happy it had this today for a variety of reasons.  Usually when I fill out my little journal, the things I post are pretty simple.  I'm grateful it's the weekend, or that I'm snuggled under warm covers on a cold winter day, or I'm grateful that the Patriots won (that would be today's gratitude.)  But for a large part of today, I wasn't grateful, in fact, I was feeling downright sorry for myself.  I wasn't dwelling on it, but the down in the dumps mood did happen  more than once today.  You all know how I feel about those moods - I think they are inevitable, and we need them to help us appreciate the good moods even more.  But this little quote today really hit me hard. …

It’s all Part of the Learning Curve

I've learned a LOT about people and human nature lately.  Sadly, a lot of it is very disappointing, and I am disturbed by the nature of people who profess to be caring individuals.  They pay lip service to doing the right thing and their desire to help, but then turn around and do things that are so contrary to their statements.  It saddens me, but I'm trying to put the lessons I've learned to good use.  Again it's a case of realizing that while I can't control the actions of others,  I can certainly control how I REact to their actions. I was prepared to write a scathing post, and publicly call people out on what I consider atrocious behavior, but at what cost?  It's NOT going to change them, or impact them in any way, and it's only going to serve to fuel my anger.  So instead,  took some time and thought about their actions, and how they made me feel, and how they impacted me.  Now, I want to thank them, because I have had a life lesson reinforced and I am growing into a better person because of it.   P.S.  I will be getting out a…

Two Little Words – So Many Feelings

I received an email today from a very nice gentleman in London today.  It wasn't a long email, in fact it was very short.  It touched on the weather and then, the author of the letter thanked me.  He told me he read the Daily Positive Thought every day and he was grateful to receive them. I cannot tell you how much that letter meant to me.  I smiled for HOURS just thinking about it and in fact, it spurred me on to write this blog post.  This wonderful gentleman took two minutes out of his day and said Thank You, and it totally turned my day around. Of course I responded to his email, telling him how much I appreciated hearing from him and how much it meant to me - hopefully, I was able to give back to him, some of the great feelings he gave to me! It's pretty cool, when you think about it.  We all have the power to bring these feelings to other people.  All it takes is a sincere and heartfelt thank you.  Two words that carry carry so much clout. Thank you - that's all it takes. So I want to take…

Gratitude Rocks

I've been thinking a LOT about gratitude.  Gratitude ROCKS, and I want to continue to cultivate an attitude of gratitude.  I have a lot of fantastic, great and amazing things in my life, and I want to remember not just to acknowledge them, but to REVEL in them!  I want to get excited about all the good in my life and I want you to do the same.  "Why should I be grateful?" someone asked me when I was talking about this the other day.  "My life sucks, this is going wrong, and that is bad and blah blah blah"....their list went on and on.  I let them go on for a bit about all their woes, because sometimes, venting is good thing.  Finally when they were done, I asked them to tell me 1 good thing in their life.  And what do you know they were able to come up with something good in their life, and then another, and another, and another.  It was amazing.  When they put forth a little effort, they found there were a lot of good things in their life - it's all a matter of perspective, really.  Then I asked why they simply…

The Land of Truth

By Chris Cade

A certain man believed that the ordinary waking life, as people know it, could not possibly be complete. He sought the real Teacher of the Age. He read many books and joined many circles, and he heard the words and witnessed the deeds of one master after another. He carried out the commands and spiritual exercises which seemed to him to be most attractive.

He became elated with some of his experiences. At other times he was confused; and he had no idea at all of what his stage was, or where and when his search might end.

This man was reviewing his behavior one day when he suddenly found himself near the house of a certain sage of high repute. In the garden of that house, he encountered Khidr, the secret guide who shows the way to truth.
